I was at a UMD tailgate and was fascinated by these battery-powered coolers, so I made a short piece on it. This was just for fun, don't take it too seriously.

After graduating college, I spent a year teaching English in Japan. Here is an abridged photo essay of the experience:

Some of my students at the annual sports festival. Teams charge at each other and try to knock the opponent off of his "horse." Very entertaining.

The preferred method of transportation: bicycles, and lots of them.

Another common mode of transportation: trains. They're fast and efficient, but don't you dare talk too loud.

This isn't typical arcade attire; these girls had just visited a community festival.

A couple outside a Japanese club at 6:00 AM. Long nights of clubbing become the norm here, as the trains stop running at midnight every night and begin again at 5:00 the next morning.

A young girl admires a display of paper cranes at the Tanabata festival in Sendai. The Tanabata, or star festival, is one of the most colorful festivals in Japan.

A quick snapshot during our journey to the summit of Mount Fuji.

The most popular fish market in the world: Tsukiji. Talk about fresh sushi.

It wasn't raining, so there really was no need for an umbrella except to enhance this photograph.

A hot bowl of fresh ramen soup and tea. Puts that instant, "boil in 3 minutes" stuff to shame.

The world's largest aquarium window in Okinawa. It's like watching JAWS on the big screen, sans the tacky effects.

A little boy playing with the decorations at a festival. Japanese children and the bold colors of festivals never ceased to capture my attention.

I think artistic ability is innately programmed in Japanese people. Our students decorated the board at our teacher farewell party.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness hosts a walk each year to raise awareness for mental illness. This year, I was fortunate enough to do their promotional video, which will be used for several events leading up to the event.

Note: I did not do any of the videography, only the editing. I was given raw footage that I sorted through and organized into this masterpiece.
